Our story
The Cenex group consists of two separate entities with offices based in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, combining expertise and tools to deliver research and consultancy projects.
Cenex
Cenex was established in 2005 as the UK’s first ‘Centre of Excellence for Low Carbon and Fuel Cell Technologies’ by the UK Government and Automotive industry to support the transition to low carbon mobility.
Cenex Nederland
In 2018, Cenex Nederland was founded. While inspired by Cenex UK’s mission and part of the wider Cenex family, it operates from with its own Dutch legal foundation. Cenex Nederland supports public and private sectors in advancing accelerating zero-emission mobility, energy infrastructure, and circular mobility in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond.

Our events
Since 2022, Cenex Nederland has been organizing the annual Cenex Lenteborrel (Spring Drinks). Starting in 2025, the event is open to all. The event, held in Amsterdam, features keynotes, exhibitors, engaging serious games, and drinks to celebrate the arrival of Spring. It is our way to celebrate successful collaboration, look at upcoming trends together and not in the least to express gratitude to our inspiring network.
Cenex Expo is the UK’s leading event for low-carbon and connected mobility, and Cenex Nederland proudly participates each year. With free admission, speaker slots, and exhibition space available, it features vehicle demos, expert seminars, and networking opportunities at the perfect location, the UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground, one of Europe’s largest vehicle testing centers.
