3D Mobility World

3D Mobility World

3D Mobility World is the interactive companion to the GEMINI project’s Policy Package (D5.1): a public, browser-based virtual cityscape where the policy, technology and social-dimension findings from GEMINI’s eight Mobility Living Labs are embedded directly into a navigable city, so you open the relevant guidance at the point where it applies. It requires no installation and, for now, no account – built for desktop first, but it also runs on mobile.

The virtual city: click and drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, click any glowing hotspot to explore.

Built for two audiences

Decision-makers

Municipal officials & transport planners

A structured reference: policy recommendations, technology and policy roadmaps, and the step-by-step Handbook pathway are each reachable in a few clicks, with direct routes to the policy-focused sections you need.

Citizens & community groups

Residents, housing associations & neighbourhood initiatives

Explore concepts, services and the bottom-up track of the Handbook – including how to set up a community-led shared mobility service under the Mobility-as-a-Commons approach.

Six ways to explore the city

Around the city view, the platform offers complementary entry modes that mirror the GEMINI Handbook structure – so there’s always a productive way in, whether or not you have a specific question yet.

The 3D city

Click and drag to orbit, scroll to zoom, and click any glowing object to explore. Hotspots span Public Transport, Shared Bikes & Scooters, a Mobility Hub, Community and Commercial Car Sharing, a Stadium/Event Hub and cross-border mobility, split across two districts.

Myth vs Fact pop-ups

Opening any hotspot surfaces a short brief grounded in a specific Living Lab: a description, an “In short” summary, and a Myth vs Fact box that puts a common misconception against the evidence – with buttons through to the Handbook and that city’s own Lab page.

The Handbook

A topics overview opens all eight chapters of Brief C at a glance – from Getting Started and Planning to Business Models, the GEMINI Living Labs and Technology & Policy Roadmaps – with a button to download the full report.

Topic overviews

Four thematic panels – Policy & Regulation, Data & Digital, Users’ Perspective and Technology – break each brief into an overview plus specific recommendation pages, illustrated with evidence cards such as “One Car Replaces 8 to 20” or “The Silo is the Problem”.

Not sure where to start?

A guided starting point routes citizens, operators and public authorities toward the parts of the package most relevant to them – so nobody needs a fully-formed question to begin exploring.

GEMINI Assistant

A chat panel greets every visitor and stays available throughout the site. Ask it about mobility hubs, shared transport or a specific city in plain language, and it answers grounded only in the Policy Package content.

See it in action

Every brief, broken into evidence

Four thematic panels – Policy & Regulation, Data & Digital, Users’ Perspective and Technology – each open into an overview and specific recommendation pages, backed by evidence cards like “One Car Replaces 8 to 20” or “The Silo is the Problem”.

Myth vs Fact, right where it applies

Click the “Community” hotspot in Amsterdam, for example, and it opens Amsterdam’s Mobility-as-a-Commons story – an “In short” summary, then a myth (“community carsharing is too small-scale to be practical”) set directly against the Living Lab evidence, with one-click links to the Handbook and the Amsterdam Lab page.

The whole Handbook, one click away

The “All Handbook Topics” view lays out all eight chapters of Brief C at a glance – from Getting Started and Planning through Business Models, the GEMINI Living Labs and the Technology & Policy Roadmaps – with a button to download the full report.
