Why Charging Infrastructure Matters

The Netherlands leads Europe in public charging density, smart charging innovation, and grid integration. With ambitious national and EU targets, businesses, municipalities, and fleet operators must ensure their charging infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and cost-effective. The right strategy delivers operational excellence, sustainability, and future readiness.

Proven Track Record in Charging Innovation

MACBETH: Multipoint megAwatt Charging for Battery Electric Truck Hubs (2025)

MACBETH develops high-power megawatt charging hubs for heavy electric trucks across Europe to support fleet electrification. It focuses on scalable, grid-friendly solutions and real-world demonstrations. Cenex Nederland helps optimize infrastructure and user experience for wide adoption.

AZN: Charging Infrastructure network requirements for e-ambulances (2024)

Cenex Nederland studied the charging needs for a fully electric Dutch ambulance fleet using 14 months of real travel data from over 1,000 ambulances. A simulation model analyzed energy use and charging scenarios at both hospitals and ambulance stations. The results show where and how much charging infrastructure is needed to maintain current service levels.

Port of Amsterdam: Cold Ironing System Surplus (2024)

The Port of Amsterdam’s 20 MW shore power hub, operational since 2025, supplies cruise ships and shares excess power for road transport charging. A Closed Distribution System enables power use beyond the terminal, with the Port managing the infrastructure for stability and growth. This supports emission reductions and sustainable transport.
