LEVIS: Advanced Light materials for sustainable Electrical Vehicles by Integration of eco-design and circular economy Strategies
We are happy to announce that the project LEVIS (Advanced Light materials for sustainable Electrical Vehicles by Integration of eco-design and circular economy Strategies), funded by the EU H2020 program, has officially started! We are very proud to be part of a consortium of 13 partners from all over Europe and Turkey. The project partners bring along world-leading expertise on material science, automotive components manufacturing and End-of-Life (EoL) management. We are eager to learn and contribute to this three-year project.
What is LEVIS? LEVIS will support the transition to sustainable mobility by developing lightweight structural parts for EVs while integrating circular economy principles in the design phase.
With the use of multi-material solutions based on fibre reinforced thermoplastics, LEVIS seeks to prove that the manufacturing of those components is not only sustainable but also feasible, cost-effective and scale-able. Creating a possible breakthrough in the circular design of mass-produced automotive applications.
Cenex Nederland leads the implementation of eco-design strategies in the product design phase, as well as the evaluation of the environmental and economic performance of the lightweight EV parts.
