Al zes maanden in het H2020 LEVIS (Advanced Light materials for sustainable Electrical Vehicles by Integration of eco-design and circular economy Strategies) project! Tijd voor alle partners om elkaar te ontmoeten en alle vooruitgang te bespreken die is geboekt met betrekking tot de lichtgewicht onderdelen van elektrische voertuigen. Dit consortium van 13 partners uit heel Europa en Turkije heeft het afgelopen half jaar gewerkt aan de ontwikkeling van lichtgewicht structurele onderdelen voor elektrische voertuigen en tegelijkertijd de principes van de circulaire economie geïntegreerd in de ontwerpfase, om de overgang naar duurzame mobiliteit te ondersteunen.
Cenex NL heeft bijgedragen aan het project door leiding te geven aan de implementatie van eco-design strategieën in de product design fase. Samen met industriële partners hebben we een toolkit getest genaamd iEDGE (integrated Eco-Design Guideline and Evaluation). Het doel is om het besluitvormingsproces in de vroege stadia van het ontwerp van een product beter te ondersteunen en te begeleiden. De toolkit is gebruikt door de EV-componentenfabrikanten binnen het LEVIS-project, zodat ze tot een ontwerpstrategie kunnen komen die in overeenstemming is met de grotere visie en doelstellingen van het bedrijf.
De volgende stap voor Cenex NL is de evaluatie van de milieu- en economische prestaties van de lichtgewicht EV-onderdelen door middel van Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) en Life Cycle Costing (LCC). We nemen het voortouw en werken samen met de projectpartners om de impact van de demonstranten op het milieu en de kosten gedurende de hele levenscyclus te identificeren.
